Music Therapy helps to develop the child’s attention span, communication, motor and social skills through singing, playing instruments, song writing, listening and expressive movement. Most children demonstrate a strong response to music. Music becomes a great motivator, addressing goals by offering an alternative form of therapy. The music therapist will see children one to one or in small groups. Joint therapy with another attending therapist is often offered to the family.
Referrals are only accepted internally through your child’s therapist. Ask your child’s therapist about the possibility of music therapy intervention.
